Tendering and contracting


Advise contract strategy and package arrangement.

Assist in selection of contractors for tendering.

Draft contract conditions.

Advise tendering procedure.

Prepare tender documents, preferably with bills of quantities (wherever practical) based on
specifications and drawings.

Price bills of quantities issued as check against tender prices returned.

Arrange for tenders including managing responses to queries from tenderers and issuing
addenda/clarifications as situation dictates.

Examine, analyze and report on all tenders received regarding contractual and cost aspects
including detailed arithmetical checks.

Arrange and attend tender interview meetings including preparation of checklist for discussion
with tenderers and records of meeting.

Advise cost cutting measures should tender prices exceed approved budget.

Assist in negotiation with contractors.

Recommend award of contract to suitable contractor.

Prepare letters of award for all contracts.

Prepare formal contract documents for all contracts.
